Punjab Government inked a Deal with Microsoft


microsoftPunjab government and the software giants Microsoft have recently signed a strategic partnership agreement. The formal ceremony took place Chief Minister Secretariat in Lahore.
According to the agreement the software company will lend all out support to enhance and support the Local IT industry in Punjab. The agreement also includes the setting up of an innovation center at the Software Technology park.
Present on the occasion was Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and the Microsoft head in Pakistan Mr kamal Ahmed.
CM Shahbaz Sharif elaborated on the point that Punjab government has developed a comprehensive strategy to promote IT culture in the province and it is also planning to develop several IT Labs across the province.
The chief minister said under the agreement, the Punjab government would invest Rs3 billion in three years and Microsoft Rs1.5 billion, and resultantly the government would earn a profit of Rs500 million.
