PTCL has introduced a mega broadband package which provides internet connectivity at speeds up to 50 Mbps. This is the highest broadband speed that any operator till to date has offered in whole world. The service is named Ultra Net and currently is available only in Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore.
Ultra Net is based on VDSL2 Bonding Technology whose development has enabled PTCL to offer 50Mbps broadband speeds on single connection. VDSL2 Bonding Technology requires two copper cables to work but it supports all IPTV, data and Triple play services at one connection. This service has been launched mainly for bandwidth hungry internet customers that are ready to pay heavy charges on installation and monthly use.
PTCL has introduced three different packages in UltraNet category with connectivity speeds 10Mbps, 20Mbps and 50Mbps. The installation charges inclusive of Modem charges for all three packages are Rs 10,000. After this 10Mbps, 20Mbps and 50Mbps packages cost you Rs 9,999, Rs 15,000 and Rs 20,000 per month respectively. Due to high installation and monthly charges, this service is affordable only to the high end corporate sector.
