Indian subscribers getting missed calls from Pakistan and ME

Indian telecom regulator TRAI has asked all the cellular operators in India to address the issue of missed calls that are originating mostly from Pakistan, Middle East and Africa.

According to reports, Indian mobile phone subscribers are regularly receiving missed calls from foreign countries prompting customers to call back. TRAI has received several complaints from the customers of being charged exorbitantly when they respond to these missed calls.

Cellular operators have warned their customers through SMS to avoid responding to unknown numbers specially or international origin.

In month of January, Vodafone had asked its 140 million customers to ignore such missed calls.
