Pakistani mobile subscribers base grown to 93.1 million


Pakistani telecom operators have added 1.16 million subscribers in the month of may as a result of their extraordinary sales campaigns in the previous months. Cellular customer base has been widened by 1.3 percent in May 2009, the second highest growth in this financial year.
The total subscribers have now risen to an all-time high of 93.1 million, PTA figures showed.
Mobilink remain the market leader by adding 0.431 million customers, Telenor added 0.374 million new subscribers. Warid, Ufone and Zong managed additions in the range of 0.135 million to 0.141 million.
Mobilink cutomer base has now increased to 28.81 million subscribers followed by Telenor with 20.48 million users and Ufone with 19.85 million. Warid and Zong stand 17.65 million and 6.263 million connections.
