Excerpts of Telenor’s CEO Presentation On Q4 2011 Results


Telenor welcomes everyone at the presentation discussion of the results for the fourth quarter of 2011. Scott Engebrigtsen was there to keep guiding throughout the presentation which was delivered by CEO, Jon Fredrik Baksaas; and CFO Richard Olav.
For the year of 2011, the company’s income stood at NOK 98.5 billions (US $ 17.1 billions), with EBITDA reaching 31 percent, and operating cash flow standing at 19.1 billion (US $ 3.3 billion).
Jon Fredrik Baksaas, while addressing said that,
”In 2011, we added 29 million mobile subscriptions, of which 7 million in the fourth quarter. The results from the Norwegian operation are impacted by high market activities this quarter to speed up the journey with a bundled new price plans, ‘Furthermore he said that ”We are confident that by utilizing our market positions, people and capabilities, the Telenor Group will see further growth and strong performance in 2012,”
Richard Olav, Chief Financial Officer said that Telenor will be “disciplined” in what it can transfer to pay India to maintain the telecom licenses which were earlier cancelled by the court. He added that Telenor was also considering to share buybacks entertainment including movie, music and video games, but it is not final yet.
