Government of Punjab and search engine giant, Google, has entered into an agreement for displaying all the historic places and areas valuable to the tourists on its maps. The MoU was signed with the aim to promote tourism within Punjab Province.
The deal was signed at Arfa Information Technology Park in the presence of Chief Minister of Punjab, Mian Shahbaz Sharif. Apart from other provincial officials, representatives of Google Asia were also present to ensure that Google will make sure the swift execution of mapping the province. Google hoped to sign further such agreements in future.
According to reports, Google will also help government of Punjab in maintaining of land records in Punjab.
