Pakistan Aeronautical Complex(PAC) has entered into a joint venture with a Chinese company Innavtek International (H.K) Ltd for manufacturing of computers and tablet PCs in Pakistan.
At the moment, the joint venture has manufactured three products, A Google Android 2.3 OS based Tablet, eBook reader and an Atom processor based notebook at PAC’s production facility, Avionics Production Factory (APF).
PAC has started supplying these products in the Rawalpindi city whereas it plans to send these products across the country and for that it is relying on Innavtek, its Chinese partner, to do the marketing and related activities in this regard.

According to Chairman Pakistan Aeronautical Complex, Kamra, Air Marshal Farhat Hussain Khan, “We have established the facility to manufacture and test these products at APF”.
“Production scope of the commercial products would be further broadened progressively”, he added
We may foresee more products being manufactured and marketed by PAC in the coming months. A source at the company told that PAC intends to manufacture the Smart Phones as well which will provide a low cost solution within Pakistan.
As per the press release, put on its website, after the production of JF-17 fighter aircraft, Pakistan Air Force had enough resources to manufacture commercial products to support the economy of Pakistan. Therefore, Chairman PAC decided to optimally utilize these resources for the production of much demanding gadgets all over the world.
So far, we haven’t seen any marketing and selling activity from the PAC and we are not too sure about the consumer’s response about these three products but we can guess that since these products are being manufactured by our military institution, therefore, it has a big market within our government organizations.
