Apple launches slimmest Mac Book Pro at WWDC

Apple’s World Wide Developer Conference 2012(WWDC) kicked off today on June 11 in San Francisco that will continue up till June 15. This is the first annual event since co-founder Steve Jobs died.
Apple displayed its new Mac Book Pro computer which is much thinner, less than an inch (0.71 inch / 18 mm to be précised) and weighs around 2kg.
CNet reports that latest machine is the slimmest and thinner Mac Book Pro so far and is equipped with mighty Intel quad-core i7, 2.7 GHz processor, 16GB RAM, Nvidia GeForce GT 650M graphics and sport 768GB flash memory. Hottest about Mac Book Pro is its ultra high resolution of 2880 x 1800 pixels and longer battery life that lasts for 7 hours. These machines are being shipped worldwide today for 1,199 to 2,199 US Dollars, depending upon the specs.
The WWDC is basically a platform to show the power of Apple in terms of software. Apple app store has more than 650,000 applications that include 250,000 apps for iPad. Since Apple launched the app store 4 years ago, 30 billion applications have been downloaded. Apple claims that it has given 5 billion US dollars to its developers as an Apple developers gets 70% of the application price on the store. Apple also announced that it has more than 400 million active credit card accounts that are engaged with its app store  – a number much higher than PayPal and Amazon that have 110 million and 152 million active accounts respectively.
Tech Crunch reports that Apple also announced iOS 6 for its iPhone and iPad along with number of Siri enhancements such as;
  • Siri’s integration with Yahoo for sports updates including Football, Baseball and Basketball etc
  • You can launch apps through Siri by simply calling the app name
  • Soon you will tweet by voice and to further amaze the Apple lovers, future cars will be having a dedicated place for Siri – button- on their steering. The brands include BMW, BMW, GM, Land Rover, Audi, Honda etc.
  • Siri is now available on iPad
