SingTel fined $400,000 for absence of services


SingTel fined $400,000 for absence of servicesSingapore based company, SingTel has been fined $ 400,000 by the communication authority Infocomm Development Authority (IDA) on account of failure to provide uninterrupted services to its mobile phone subscribers.
Last September, SingTel caused its customers to lose the connectivity for 22 hours. During this time, customers could not use voice, data and messaging service.
According to IDA the network of SingTel remained silent as it was upgrading the network and installing new switches in the central region. Due to a software malfunctioning, the network stopped responding
